What's going on in my studio

Christmas is quickly approaching and I am still running around with shopping to get done, food to cook, and gifts to wrap... all while trying to keep up with furniture that needs painting! I'm sure everyone can relate.

So, I thought I'd share my works in progress, as they are taking FOREVER to finish during the holiday season!!

This coffee table is lovingly distressed and layered with several colors until finally reaching a warm winter white. I've had fun with adding metal stamped words...

feathered friends... and birds nests. When this is finished, it will be at the Mercantile Mall.

I'm rushing to finish this homestead sign before Christmas!! This is in the midway stage. I still have to jazz up the "Stockemer Hill" lettering, add the est. date and top it off with a patina and varnish or poly. This is made from a headboard (I might have before pics, I'll post later) and it will hang at the gateway of a log lake home in Michigan.

why do I work so last minute?!!!

Happy Holiday's from my family to yours. See you in 2010.

  1. Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family. I so love the painted table. It is positively beautiful. Also, I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the beaded serving spoon. You need to make some for the shop!!!! I pray you have an amazing new year and I hope to see you soon.
